Google will put a stop to this before they have 200 employees living in the parking lot.

Considering the ridiculous cost of living in Simi Valley/San Francisco, I don’t think they can do too much besides tell him to just park his truck somewhere else.

Agreed, but it sounds like he hasn’t been told that so far.

This is awesome. If I was 22 with no girlfriend, this would be a real option to save money quickly just for a few months. When you’re finished, sell the box truck and BAM - your rent was almost free.

I’m not sure this is technically legal either, but I don’t know the laws where he lives. From what I understand he needs a written agreement between he and the property owner to live on site and that’s not taking into account zoning laws. Not trying to be a Debbie downer but he’s got a lot to work out if he wants to keep this up.

Why does this program have to exclude having a girlfriend?

Especially now that his arrangement has been put on Front Street. (I would have looked for a truck with a lower deck.)

My girlfriend prefers nice things. No way in hell she would be living in a mobile vehicle of any kind. Save for a $1mil RV.

Or they can create their own sub-culture in the Parking lot....

I would have gone for a slightly cheaper truck and spent some money kitting it out. RV air cons aren't that expensive and that would just require a little reinforcement. Add to that a few hundred bucks worth or paneling and insulation and it could be perfect.

I just noticed I typed Simi Valley, I meant to type in Silicon Valley......But you get the meaning.
